Electrical Engineering [BEng (Hons)]

lectrical Engineering is a diverse engineering science, which focuses on researchdevelopment, but also production of electrical devices and equipment. From the smallest PC chip to the largest power station transformer – Electrical Engineering is the anchor that makes technical progress possible. Without Electrical Engineering there would not be electricity in households, neither would a mobile phone or a plane work. Especially in the innovative areas of Electrical Engineering, there will be future developments that cannot be imagined today. This is the reason studying Electrical Engineering is known as one of the most demanding studies in Germany. But it’s all worth it – as an electrical engineer you have career prospects in diverse fields with an above average salary.

This is the reason studying Electrical Engineering is known as one of the most demanding studies in Germany. But it’s all worth it – as an electrical engineer you have career prospects in diverse fields with an above average salary.

The career prospects for Electrical Engineers are as diverse as the degree course itself. Electrical Engineer graduates can work in the following fields:

    • Research & Development
    • Automotive industry
    • Energy supply
    • Telecommunications
    • Use, Repair and Installation
    • Production
    • Sales

The Electrical Engineering course is designed to give students a broad knowledge of general electrical engineering. The course is organized into three study sections.

The first study section focuses on basic scientific modules. It lays the foundation for further engineering subjects in the second study section.

The second study section covers the main areas of electrical and electronic engineering and related disciplines, such as programming or project management. The engineering subjects are designed with a practical orientation and additional internships.

The final and third study section of the electrical engineering degree course includes writing a bachelor thesis. The thesis should be written in collaboration with a company or institution that has a relation to the chosen subject.
